Discord server template

Roblox Discord server template

This template is for the Discord server of a Roblox game or group, where players come for update news, codes and trading, and the developers need bug reports they can act on. Two things set it apart: trading has scam protection built into the rules and AutoMod, because Roblox communities are a top target for account scams, and the dev team has a private area for testing that players never see.

Who this template is for

  • Roblox games with an active player base
  • Roblox groups and studios with a development team
  • Games that run testing, codes and trading

If your members just play Roblox alongside other games, the gaming template fits better. For a Roblox roleplay group with characters and scenes, see the roleplay template.

Why it is laid out this way

codes
Fake codes are a common lure for scam links. A read-only channel posted by developers only, with "if it is not here, it is not real" in the topic, kills that tactic.
game-link
Phishing copies of popular games are common. One official link channel gives players a place to check.
trading
A 2-minute slowmode, a fixed format and a no-Robux rule keep trading visible and reportable. Scammers prefer DMs; the rules and welcome message warn about that.
Testing
Testers see upcoming builds; the category is hidden from everyone else, so leaks are traceable to a small group.
Development
Developers do not get moderation permissions by default. Building the game and policing the community are separate jobs.

Roles and permissions

Roles are listed from highest to lowest. Member and ping roles carry no extra permissions because @everyone already has Discord's defaults. Check any role in the permissions calculator.

Server rules

Posted to #rules when you build with Discrofy, or copy them.

  1. Be respectful

No bullying, harassment, hate speech or targeting players. Most of our community is young; act like it.

  2. Keep it family friendly

No swearing at people, NSFW content, or inappropriate usernames, avatars or Roblox outfits in screenshots.

  3. Never share account info

Do not share passwords, cookies (.ROBLOSECURITY) or verification codes. Staff will never ask. Anyone who does is scamming you.

  4. No scams or real-money trades

No trading items for Robux outside the game, real money, or other games’ items. Scamming is a permanent ban.

  5. No exploits

Do not use, sell or share exploits or scripts. Report bugs and exploits in #bug-reports, not in public chat.

  6. No begging

Do not ask for Robux, free items or private servers.

  7. Use the right channel

Bugs go in #bug-reports, ideas in #suggestions, trades in #trading.

  8. Follow Discord and Roblox rules

Follow the Discord Community Guidelines and the Roblox Community Standards.

Welcome message and onboarding

**Welcome to the community, {user}!** 🎮

• Verify your Roblox account in #verify.
• Official game link: #game-link
• Latest update: #update-log
• Codes: #codes (only these are real)

⚠️ Staff will never DM you asking for your password or to trade. Report anyone who does.
  1. Set up a Roblox verification bot in #verify and have it give the Verified role.
  2. Post the official game and group links in #game-link.
  3. Pin a bug report format in #bug-reports so reports include device and steps.
  4. Add Update Ping and Event Ping to Onboarding.

Moderation and AutoMod

Discord AutoMod rules to turn on

  • Block phrases used in Roblox scams: "free robux", "robux generator", ".ROBLOSECURITY", "cookie logger".
  • Block links that are not roblox.com or your own domains, using a regex with an allow list, in public channels.
  • Turn on the commonly flagged words filter: the audience is young.
  • Block mention spam at 4 unique mentions.

How to moderate it

  • Remove fake code posts and scam links immediately and ban the account; do not just delete the message.
  • Never let staff trade with players; it creates impersonation opportunities.
  • Reply to good bug reports so players keep sending them.
  • Remove the Tester role from anyone who leaks a build.

Suggested bots

  • Discrofy: Builds this layout and manages AutoMod and moderation from a dashboard.
  • Bloxlink or RoVer: Verifies Roblox accounts and can give roles based on group rank.
  • A webhook from your game: Posts update logs or live events to Discord automatically.

Build it in about a minute

Discrofy creates every category, channel, role and permission above in your server, then posts the rules. It only adds, so existing channels are kept, and you can undo the build from your dashboard. Your first build each month is free.

Frequently asked questions

How do I verify Roblox accounts?+

Add a verification bot such as Bloxlink or RoVer, point it at #verify and set it to give the Verified role. You can also sync roles to group ranks.

Why don’t developers have moderator permissions?+

Developing the game and moderating the community are different jobs. Give a developer the Moderator role as well if they also moderate.

How do I stop trading scams?+

Keep trades in #trading, ban Robux and real-money trades, block known scam phrases with AutoMod, and repeat in the welcome message that staff never DM players first.

Can players under 13 join?+

No. Discord requires users to be at least 13 (older in some countries), even though Roblox allows younger players. Say so in your rules.
