Discord server template
Anime Discord server template
Anime servers live or die on spoilers. Someone who is three episodes behind will leave the moment a finale is spoiled in general chat, so this template gives airing shows their own seasonal channel, keeps manga readers apart from anime-only watchers, and makes spoiler tags a rule rather than a courtesy. It also adds the two things that turn a chat server into a community: a recommendations channel people actually use and scheduled watch parties.
Free. Adds channels and roles, deletes nothing.

Who this template is for
- General anime and manga fan communities
- Servers that discuss currently airing seasonal anime
- Communities that run watch parties or club-style events
A server for a single series works better with the community template and channels named after its arcs. Art-first communities should start from the art template.
Channels and categories
Every channel, its purpose and who can post. Read-only and private channels are set up with the right permission overwrites, so you do not have to configure them by hand.

Why it is laid out this way
- Seasonal Anime
- Airing shows get one channel with a thread per episode. People who are behind can mute threads they have not reached instead of muting the whole channel.
- finished-series
- Completed shows are spoiler-free territory inside a named thread. It stops seasonal channels filling up with ten-year-old debates.
- Manga
- Manga readers are usually ahead of anime-only fans. A separate category keeps chapter spoilers out of episode discussion.
- fan-art
- A 2-minute slowmode stops one person flooding the channel, and the credit rule protects artists and the server.
- Watch Parties
- A read-only schedule plus an opt-in ping is enough to run weekly events without pinging everyone.

Roles are listed from highest to lowest. Member and ping roles carry no extra permissions because @everyone already has Discord's defaults. Check any role in the permissions calculator.

Server rules
Posted to #rules when you build with Discrofy, or copy them.
Spoilers go in spoiler tags
Anything past the latest aired episode or latest translated chapter needs ||spoiler tags|| and the series name outside them. Seasonal channels follow the episode-thread rule pinned in each.
Respect other people’s favourites
Debate shows, not people. No insulting someone for what they watch, and no starting fan wars in general chat.
Keep it SFW
No NSFW art, fan service screenshots or suggestive content anywhere, including names, avatars and emojis. Members include teenagers.
Credit artists, no reposting paywalled work
Fan art needs a source link to the artist. Do not repost Patreon, Fanbox or other paid content.
No piracy links
Do not share or ask for illegal streaming, scanlation aggregator or torrent links. Talk about where to watch legally instead.
Use the right channel
Recommendations go in #recommendations, memes in #memes and seasonal episode talk in the seasonal channels. Off-topic chat is fine in #general.
No self-promotion without permission
Server invites, shop links and social media plugs need staff approval. Share your own art in #fan-art.
Follow Discord’s rules
Follow the Discord Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, including the minimum age in your country.

Welcome message and onboarding
**Welcome to Anime Lounge, {user}!** ✨
1. Read #rules, especially the spoiler rule.
2. Pick your pings in #pick-your-pings.
3. Tell us your top three in #introductions.
4. Watching something this season? Find its thread in #seasonal-discussion.- Pin the episode-thread format in #seasonal-discussion and create threads for the season’s main shows on day one.
- Add the three ping roles to Onboarding so members choose them as they join.
- Decide which streaming service you use for watch parties and pin it in #watch-party-schedule.
- Give the Artist role by hand at first; it is a small reward that keeps artists posting.
Moderation and AutoMod
Discord AutoMod rules to turn on
- Block common piracy domains and phrases ("free anime site", "watch online free") in public channels.
- Block invite links outside staff channels to stop server advertising.
- Block mention spam at 5 unique mentions.
- Turn on the commonly flagged words filter and add slurs used in fandom arguments.
How to moderate it
- Treat unmarked spoilers as the main offence: delete, warn once, then time out repeat offenders.
- Archive seasonal threads at the end of each season so the channel stays usable.
- Check fan-art reposts for a source link; remove reposts without one.
- Rotate watch party hosts so events do not depend on one person.
Recommended server settings
| Setting | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Verification level | Medium | Accounts must be 5 minutes old, which slows spam bots without blocking new fans. |
| Explicit media filter | Filter for all members | Anime art is a common route for NSFW images; filter everywhere. |
| Default notifications | Only @mentions | Busy seasonal channels would otherwise ping everyone constantly. |
| Onboarding | On with ping questions | Members pick seasonal, manga and watch party pings as they join. |
Suggested bots
- Discrofy: Builds this layout and manages AutoMod and moderation from a dashboard.
- An anime tracker bot: Looks up shows and posts airing schedules from sites like AniList or MyAnimeList.
- A watch party bot: Optional. Syncs playback if you stream from a shared browser session.
Build it in about a minute
Discrofy creates every category, channel, role and permission above in your server, then posts the rules. It only adds, so existing channels are kept, and you can undo the build from your dashboard. Your first build each month is free.
Frequently asked questions
How should an anime server handle spoilers?+
Use spoiler tags for anything past the latest episode or chapter, keep manga and anime discussion in separate categories, and give each airing show its own thread so people who are behind can mute only what they have not watched.
Should I add a channel for every show?+
No. Channels per show multiply fast and go quiet after the season. Use one seasonal channel with a thread per show or episode, and give a show its own channel only when it has a large, lasting fanbase in your server.
Can I run watch parties on Discord?+
Yes. Use a voice channel with screen share from a service your members can access legally, schedule it with a Discord event and ping the Watch Party role.
Is this template SFW?+
Yes. It is designed for members 13 and up, with an explicit media filter for everyone and a SFW rule covering art, names and avatars.
