Discord timestamp generator

Pick a date and time and copy a timestamp code. When you paste it in Discord, every member sees the time in their own time zone and language, so nobody has to convert an event time again.

Using timestamps in announcements

  • Pair a date with a countdown. “Starts <t:...:F> (<t:...:R>)” gives members the exact time and how long they have.
  • Use Discord events for anything recurring. Events send reminders and show interest counts; link the event and put the timestamp in the announcement.
  • Schedule the post itself. Discrofy can draft announcements with AI and schedule them so they go out at the right time without anyone online.

Frequently asked questions

How do Discord timestamps work?+

A timestamp is a unix time (seconds since 1 January 1970 UTC) wrapped in <t:...>. Discord replaces it with a date or time formatted for each viewer’s own time zone and language settings.

Where can I use timestamps?+

Anywhere Discord renders markdown: messages, announcements, embeds, forum posts, channel topics and bot messages. They do not render in server or channel names.

How do I make a countdown in Discord?+

Use the relative style, which ends in :R. It shows “in 2 hours” before the time and “2 hours ago” after it, and updates on its own while the message is open.

Why does the timestamp show the wrong time?+

The code is always correct for the moment you picked; check that the date and time were entered in your own time zone, which is shown above the picker. If a member sees the wrong time, their device clock or time zone setting is usually wrong.

Is this tool private?+

Yes. Everything runs in your browser. The date you pick is never sent to Discrofy.
